Let's celebrate Diwali!
What is Diwali?
Diwali is a festival of lights. Dipa means lamp. Vali means row. In Sanskrit it's Dipavali, which means row of lights. It is particularly associated with Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity. It is celebrated by Hindu's, Jains, Sikhs, and some Buddhists. It is a major festival celebrating the triumph of light over darkness, of good over evil and of knowledge over ignorance. It marks the start of the Hindu New Year.
