2024 RETREAT SEASON BEGINS IN APRIL.

Treat yourself to a Wellness retreat in a gorgeous luxury cabin in the Catskill Mountains of Windham, NY!

Come relax, destress, detox and bring your body and mind into harmony with nature. Enjoy yoga practice, daily meditation, vegetarian & non-vegetarian meals, workshops, while taking in beautiful, peaceful scenery!  These  retreats are designed for small groups so they get to experience an intimate and homey feeling.  This helps to really unwind.  


 The lavender room has a king size bed and sleeps 2 or 3 people. The Turquoise room sleeps 5 people,  and Rose Room has a queen size bed and sleeps 2 people. Wi-Fi is available. The Hot Tub is outside the Zen Den and there's plenty of parking on site. Rates are per person.

FRIDAY:

5pm: Check in, welcome toast and weekend wind-down yoga class.

7pm: dinner

8:30pm: Evening meditation and Satsang

 

SATURDAY:

8am: Morning tea and light bite

8:30am: Morning meditation

9am: Yoga class for all levels

10:30am:  breakfast

11:30am: Intro to Ayurveda, "The Science of Life"

1pm:  lunch

2 -5pm: Guests have free time to unwind, go for a hike, get a massage, relax in the jacuzzi or participate in one of the following:

    -3pm: Optional - Guests can join in a 30-45 minute invigorating class to get the body moving

    -4pm: Optional - Intro to holistic wellness (this includes Intro. to essential oils, and a holistic approach to eating healthy)

5pm: Evening yoga class for all levels

7pm:  dinner

8:30pm: Evening meditation and Satsang

 

SUNDAY:

8am: Morning tea and light bite

8:30am: Morning meditation and movement

9am: Yoga class for all levels

10:30am:  breakfast

12pm: Goodbyes and check out

Meals included: 2 dinners, 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch

BYOB 21 and over only.  Please be mindful and considerate of others.  It's ok to enjoy, but this is not the appropriate setting to over-do it.

Shanti Mandir is located in the lower Hudson Valley, between the villages of Walden and Walkill, on Route 208, just 20 minutes northwest of Newburgh and 20 minutes south of New Paltz.  This location offers a little more flexibility with accommodations and it’s in Orange County, NY which is closer to NJ and NYC.  Take exit 17 off of the NY State Thruway. The 294-acre property provides a glorious natural setting, including an active stream, and pastoral and forest land.  There’s plenty of hiking and walking trails at the foot of the property.  Guests can make a cup of tea and sit by the stream outside.  There are tons of open space that you can explore. The space is immaculate and so well cared for.  It’s quiet, simple and beautiful.  It’s the perfect place to truly relax and unwind.

 

Shanti Mandir is also a “Home” for me.  My Yoga roots come from this lineage and it’s comforting to be in this space.

Transportation is available to and from New York and Newark airports and local bus and train stations.  Please call ahead for rates and arrangements.

ACCOMODATIONS

All the rooms have 2 twin beds. The basic rooms have just beds with drawer for your things as part of the bed frames. These rooms have shared bathrooms.  There's rooms with dressers and nightstands.  There's rooms with private bathrooms as well.  

Retreat pricing includes a room with a private bathroom.  If for some reason, that's not available we can adjust cost. 

Requesting a private room is usually not a problem.  It's only an issue when there's large events being held.  Then, there is no option but to share a room.  Our retreats will not run during these busy times, so we should be ok.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

THINGS TO REMEMBER

Shoes are taken off before entering any of the buildings.  There are shoe cubbies outside some of the doors.  If there’s no cubbies, we just leave them by the door.  It’s customary to do this in order to keep everything clean.  It’s best to bring shoes that are easy to put on and off.  Laces can be annoying to do and undo from one space to the next.

 

This is not a private home.  There will be other guests staying there.  However, the room where we will be doing our wellness program is totally private for our group. 

Bring a water bottle that you can refill.  Mugs and hot water are readily available.

 

Bedding and towels are provided, but feel free to bring what you need to be comfortable. 

 

No drugs or alcohol permitted. 

Below is the Ashram daily schedule.  We are not obligated to participate in any part of the activities, but we certainly can, if we would like to.  Our meal breaks will coincide with the Ashram meal times.  The ashram provides meals for all those that come to stay.  It's included in your package. There's a staff that cooks for everyone! The meals are simple, delicious and all vegetarian.  It's mostly traditional Indian cooking with rice and vegetables being staple items.  Guests have the option to stay, or go out for meals, if they choose.

5:55am – Abhishek ~ Sanskrit word which means purification ritual

6:45am – Arati ~ Sanskrit word for lighting wicks soaked with ghee and offered to the diety

8:15am – Breakfast

12:30pm – Om Namah Shivaya

12:45pm – Arati

1:00pm – Lunch

5:30pm – Evening Arati

6:00pm – Text chant

7:00pm – Dinner

 

SATURDAY EVENINGS – Arati ~ Kirtan ~ Meditation

 

SUNDAY MORNINGS – 9:00am Shri Guru Gita

                                          10:00am-12:00 noon – Satsang ~ Sanskrit word which means sharing space with like-minded people.                                            There’s a speaker and a different topic each week. There’s also chanting. 

                                           This goes until lunch time.

 

LLWS RETREAT ITINERARY

Guests can arrive on Friday evening or Saturday morning.  This gives the option for staying 1 night or 2 nights.  Friday evening, guests can get settled in, and enjoy the serene setting of the ashram.

The retreat itinerary is subject to change, and can be adapted to accommodate each group.

 

CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT:

Check in: Friday 5pm, but at this location, guests can come at their leisure.

Check out: Sunday 12pm.  Our program will end after lunch, but guests can stay as long as they’d like.

 

FRIDAY:

7pm: dinner.  After dinner, enjoy the peaceful evening and get settled in.  Our program will start on Saturday morning.

 

SATURDAY:

Guests can participate in the early morning rituals.  Our program will start at 9:30am with an opening meditation followed by a yoga class.

 

9:30am: Meditation & Yoga class for all levels

11:30am: Intro to Ayurveda, "The Science of Life"

1pm:  lunch

2-3:30pm: Guests have free time to unwind, go for a hike, journal, explore the village, or just take a rest.

3:30pm: Introduction to holistic wellness and self-care.  This is a fun workshop, where we learn uses for essential oils, self-massage and foot massage techniques, healthy eating tips, and more.

5pm: Evening yoga class and meditation for all levels

7pm:  dinner – Dinner time may be adjusted in case we want to attend the Saturday evening event at the ashram. 

 

We can wind down in the yoga room before bed, or guests can have some quiet time in their rooms.

 

SUNDAY:

8am: Morning Meditation and gentle movement

8:30am: Breakfast

9:30am: Yoga class for all levels or Sunday program

11am: Ayurvedic Self Care or Sunday program

12:30pm: Lunch

 

After lunch we will close with a Meditation.

 

Guests can stay and enjoy the ashram for the remainder of the day.

PRICING:

2-night stay (5pm Fri-1pm Sun, full itinerary above): $495 per person

1 night stay (5pm Fri-5pm Sat, no dinner Saturday): $275 per person

Saturday day rate 9am-9pm (inc. Saturday itinerary with no stay): $175 per person

DEPOSITS/REFUNDS:

A 50% deposit is required to hold your space for the retreat.  The balance is due 1 week prior to the event.

Full refunds will be given 25 days prior to the retreat date.  After that a 50% refund will be given.
