Wellness Weekend Retreat

Our weekend retreats begin on Friday evening and end on Sunday afternoon.  

The retreat season is from April - October

Next available weekend - July 26-28th.  August dates are also available.

Hindu Temple visit

Robinsville, NJ

Date: TBD 

This is a one day adventure!

We will meet at the Welcome Center at 10:50am

Morning light offering is at 11:15am 

The tour starts at 12pm and it's approx 1 hour.

Then it's time for lunch. After lunch, I will explain all that took place in the morning, teach a bit about Hindu deities, then open discussion.

From here we will drive to Heritage  park in Allentown, NJ for some Asana practice on our mats.  After our practice we can take a stroll over to the local small shops and eateries.

Kundalini Yoga Breathing

Breathing and Meditation Basics

Thursday June 27, 2024  ~  7-8:30pm

This 90 minute virtual workshop will give you a foundation to help understand the basics of breathing.  We will talk about how to breath and how to use breathing to help relax.  We will learn simple techniques for relaxation and meditation practice at home.  No experience necessary.  This will be an interactive experience.  Bring all your questions!

CHAT-TTY Tea Time

Make your favorite cup of tea, and join me on the 2nd Thursday of every month, in the evening. The gathering will be from 8-9pm/ET. Each 60 minute program will have a theme and a topic. The topics will all be related to Wellness, Yoga, Ayurveda and Health. Each program will begin with a teaching component, then an open Q&A, and closing with a relaxation and/or meditation technique for everyone to experience.

Join me for this powerful 90 minute workshop.

We put so much emphasis on yoga for our body, but what about our mind? We will discuss the importance of practicing yoga for the mind.  We will learn about the Yogic and Ayurvedic perspective of how to become "friends" with our mind.

Wellness Weekend Retreat ~ Windham NY

Treat yourself to a Wellness retreat in a gorgeous luxury cabin in the Catskill Mountains of Windham, NY!

Come relax, destress, detox and bring your body and mind into harmony with nature.

Enjoy yoga practice, daily meditation, vegetarian & non-vegetarian meals, workshops, while taking in beautiful, peaceful scenery! These retreats are designed for small groups so they get to experience an intimate and homey feeling.

This helps to really unwind.

The lavender room has a king size bed and sleeps 2 or 3 people.

The Turquoise room sleeps 5 people (bunk beds with trundle, and 1 full size bed), and Rose Room has a queen size bed and sleeps 2 people. Wi-Fi is available. The Hot Tub is outside the Zen Den and there's plenty of parking on site.

Retreat price is per person.

FRIDAY:5pm: Check in, welcome toast and weekend wind-down yoga class.

7pm: dinner

8:30pm: Evening meditation and Satsang

 

SATURDAY:8am: Morning tea and light bite

8:30am: Morning meditation

9am: Yoga class for all levels

10:30am: breakfast

11:30am: Intro to Ayurveda, "The Science of Life"

1pm: lunch

2 -5pm: Guests have free time to unwind, go for a hike, get a massage, relax in the jacuzzi or participate in one of the following: 3pm: Optional - Guests can join in a 30–45-minute invigorating class to get the body moving

4pm: Optional - Intro to holistic wellness (this includes Intro. to essential oils, and a holistic approach to eating healthy)

5pm: Evening yoga class for all levels

7pm: dinner

8:30pm: Evening meditation and Satsang

 

SUNDAY:8am: Morning tea and light bite

8:30am: Morning meditation and movement

9am: Yoga class for all levels

10:30am: breakfast

12pm: Goodbyes and check out

 

Meals included: 2 dinners, 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch

BYOB 21 and over only. Please be mindful and considerate of others. It's ok to enjoy, but this is not the appropriate setting to over-do it. No drugs permitted.

​LEAPING LOTUS ONE DAY RETREAT ITINERARY:

11:45am - Guest Arrival

12-1pm - Asana Practice

1pm - Lunch. If it's a nice day we can be in nature for a bit

2:30pm - Yoga & Ayurveda mini workshop

4pm - close with gentle movement and meditation

5:00pm – Evening Arati at the temple

6:30pm – Dinner ~ Optional.  

Our retreat day ends after evening Arati. Cost for the retreat day is $80pp

Optional (suggested donation $10): Guests can stay for dinner, if they'd like. They can also stay for a Saturday night program, if there is one. 

SATURDAY EVENINGS – After dinner Kirtan ~ Meditation ~ Optional​

THINGS TO REMEMBER:

Shoes are taken off before entering any of the buildings. There are shoe cubbies outside some of the doors. If there’s no cubbies, we just leave them by the door. It’s customary to do this in order to keep everything clean. It’s best to bring shoes that are easy to put on and off. Laces can be annoying to do and undo from one space to the next.

This is not a private home. There will be other guests staying there. However, the room where we will be doing our wellness program is totally private for our group. ​

Bring a water bottle that you can refill. Mugs and hot water are readily available.​ Our meal breaks will coincide with the Ashram meal times.

The ashram provides meals for all those that come to stay. It's included in your package.

There's a staff that cooks for everyone! The meals are simple, delicious and all vegetarian. It's mostly traditional Indian cooking with rice and vegetables being staple items. Guests have the option to stay, or go out for meals, if they choose.

No drugs or alcohol permitted.

​Transportation is available to and from New York and Newark airports and local bus and train stations. Please call ahead for rates and arrangements.


​Shanti Mandir is located in the lower Hudson Valley, between the villages of Walden and Wallkill, on Route 208, just 20 minutes northwest of Newburgh and 20 minutes south of New Paltz. This location offers a little more flexibility with accommodations and it’s in Orange County, NY which is closer to NJ and NYC. Take exit 17 off of the NY State Thruway. The 294-acre property provides a glorious natural setting, including an active stream, and pastoral and forest land. There’s plenty of hiking and walking trails at the foot of the property. Guests can make a cup of tea and sit by the stream outside. There are tons of open space that you can explore. The space is immaculate and so well cared for. It’s quiet, simple and beautiful. It’s the perfect place to truly relax and unwind.

Shanti Mandir is also a “Home” for me. My Yoga roots come from this lineage and it’s comforting to be in this space.​

ACCOMODATIONS:

If you'd like to stay overnight, that's always an option. This is not included in the one day retreat.

Rooms are available on a first come, first serve basis. If you'd like to stay let us know so we can make arrangements for you.

All the rooms have 2 twin beds.

The basic rooms have just beds with drawer for your things as part of the bed frames. These rooms have shared bathrooms. There's also rooms with dressers and nightstands. There are a few rooms with private bathrooms as well. Requesting a private room is usually not a problem. It's only an issue when there's large events being held. Then, there is no option but to share a room. ​Cost depends on type of room booked.
