Pain vs. Suffering

Pain is a physical thing that happens in the body. It is also a way for the physical body to communicate to the emotional body. Suppressed emotions can sometimes be the cause of physical pain.

Suffering is ultimately due to clinging and resisting. It is our unwillingness to move forward, or let go. Sometimes we try to fool ourselves into believing that it's the situation that is causing our suffering, but it is our resistance to the situation that causes the suffering.

Yoga and Ayurveda give us tools to free us from being stuck in these patterns. One of the hardest things to do is to "Go with the flow of life," when we don't like the situation or direction. Resisting this will only cause us harm.

Building Intimacy

Intimacy is an interesting word. We often get it confused with feeling close to someone, or sharing a special moment. Yes, that is intimacy on one level.

The deeper level of the word Intimacy, has to do with the relationship we create with ourselves. Yoga and Ayurveda provide us with the tools to deepen the relationship with the self.

The foundation of building an intimate relationship with yourself is holding yourself accountable.

Are you willing to say, "I'm willing to work on that." and mean it.

Are you willing to say, "I didn't choose wisely in this moment."

Are you willing to say, "I accept what I don't love about myself."

~ LIFE FROM THE YOGIC PERSPECTIVE ~

Life is meant to be lived and enjoyed. In spite of everything going on around us, the world is not doomed.

Life is for fun.

Life is not a burden. It's a joy.

Life is not meant to keep us tangled up in a mess, and punish us.

The world is a playground for us to learn about ourselves.

CHOICES ~ Life throws us curve balls all the time and presents us with all sorts of scenarios, in all directions. We have the freedom to choose how to respond to every single thing that comes our way. Everything is a choice. We always have the freedom to exercise our choice all the time. We also have the choice to not exercise the freedom of choice. That is also a choice.

No matter what the circumstances are, it all boils down to choices.
