Barefoot Therapy to Restore Your Nervous System

When I was in Kannur, India doing my clinical training to become an Ayurvedic Practitioner, I was so humbled by what the Dr. would prescribe as medicine. Every morning we would start our day doing rounds with the Dr. We would check pulse (eastern pulse), and do a mini intake with each patient. Then we would discuss their treatments for the day or upcoming days.

In almost every single case, there was a component of nature in their care plan. They had a stone walking path. They had a grass walking path. They had all these different outdoor areas where patients would go as part of their treatment.

For example, the Dr. would prescribe the stone walking path for patients with digestive issues. The grass walking for grounding excess vata in the mind. This was all done barefoot. He would send patients to sit in the sun at specific ho…

Lila is spelled many ways. Leela is a deep spiritual concept in Hinduism. It means "Divine Play." The concept of Lila or Leela is that the entire universe, meaning all creation, all of the joy, sorrow, life, death, beauty, hate, all the drama...all if it...is a spontaneous expression of the divine consciousness, which can also be referred to as God, or Bhahman (Hindu word for supreme consciousness.)

So, here's the essence of the divine play. The universe wasn't created out of duty, need, demand, or compulsion. It was created from utter joy, love and freedom. The soul goes through a divine play through different lifetimes and experiences, but the essence of the soul remains untouched. What thi…

Finding The Balance Between Science and Spirituality

As many of you know, my favorite thing, and my work, is bridging the gap between Western and science and Eastern Philosophy.

When it comes to healing, overcoming, or understanding anything about yourself, the mind and the heart have to come together. Otherwise, it's only half of the job. This is the nuts and bolts of my work. So, let's dive into some examples of this.

It's a way of being seen, heard, respected and neutralized! Often, we think we have worked through our dilemmas, pain points, or traumas, but then we have unexpected or unexplainable body, or emotional reactions to things and we wonder what the heck is going on.

The body remembers what the mind thinks it has processed. Unprocessed emotions, ar…
