I'm sharing some simple teas that help detox your digestive system and reduce inflammation. These are all teas that I have made and used myself over the years. They are all simple and super effective. The best part is, you can't screw these up. Be playful with the amounts and tweak them to your liking.

Ginger and Cinnamon Elixir

I like to make this in batches so I can sip on it throughout the day. Sip this continuously for at least a week. It helps regulate digestion, and reduce bloating.

  • In a pot add 32oz. of good quality water, 2 inches of fresh ginger, 5-6 cloves and a stick of cinnamon. You can play around with these amounts, but you want a decent amount of these ingredients in there. Bring to a boil. Let it sit overnight, or for a few hours.

  • Pour into a water bottle and squeeze 1/2 a lemon into the water. You can drop the lemon into the water for added flavor.

  • Feel free to add a mint leaf for an extra zing.

  • Optional - a pinch of pink salt for electrolytes and to help with absorption.

Cranberry Cocktail

Most of us associate Cranberries with UTI support. However, they also help reduce inflammation, support heart health., and oral health. They can also help boost the "Good" gut bacteria. Sip this continuously for at least a week.

  • Purchase unsweetened Cranberry Juice. This is a must. Cranberries are very tart,

so the juice we buy often has a sweetener in it. Check the label before buying.

  • Pour in a container and mix with good quality water. I usually do 60% Cranberry Juice and 40% water, but you can play around with this. Don't water it down too much because you want to get the maximum health benefits of this cocktail.

  • Next, I have added mint leaves, a sprig of fresh rosemary, a dash of cinnamon, a pinch of pink salt, a 1/2 of lime.

  • There's lots of ways to make this delicious and very cleansing.

  • Do not add Ice. Drink at room temperature or slightly cool.

  • Ideally drink without adding sugar. Enjoy the flavorful combination in the cocktail.

  • Optional - A pinch of pink salt for electrolytes and added absorption.

Turmeric Tonic

Turmeric water can help strengthen immunity, regulate digestion, reduce inflammation, help with detoxification, support heart health and liver function. It can help regulate blood sugar, and support brain health too.

Again, I like to make this in batches so I can sip throughout the day. Sip this continuously for at least a week.

  • In a pot add 32oz. of good quality water, 2 inches of fresh Turmeric and bring to a boil.

  • Add a good amount of fresh ground black pepper. This is a necessary ingredient to enhance the absorption of the Turmeric. You can use powdered Turmeric if you prefer. The fresh is definitely stronger in flavor, so play around with what works best for you.

  • Let cool

  • Pour into a water bottle and squeeze 1/2 a lemon. You can drop the lemon into the water for added flavor.

  • Optional, add a 1/4 teaspoon of ghee for added absorption.

  • Drink warm or at room temperature. Do not add Ice.

  • Optional - a pinch of pink salt for electrolytes and added absorption.

All of these drinks can be made by the glass or in smaller batches.

Just adjust the quantities and flavors to your liking.

NOTE:

  • Avoid adding sugar to these drinks. If it's a must, add sparingly, and use a natural sweetener.

  • Honey is a good natural sweetener but it should only be added when drinks are warm or room temperature. Honey becomes toxic when added to boiling or really hot beverages.

  • Avoid artificial sweeteners all together. These sweeteners will not support a detox.

  • All of these drinks should be sipped at room temperature.

  • Ice will not support a detox

Happy Sipping! Please reach out if you have any questions!
